AI Assurance for Guyana's Extractive Sector: A Risk-Based Governance Blueprint for Mining, Environmental Compliance and Worker Protection

Artificial intelligence offers applications in mining efficiency, hazard detection and environmental monitoring, but statutory accountability remains with identifiable decision makers. This paper proposes a consequence-based assurance framework for Guyana's extractive sector, covering risk classification, human oversight, data provenance, validation, explainability and incident escalation. It uses international frameworks as references while clearly separating recommendations from existing legal duties.
